Tyler Perry’s Massive Atlanta Estate Up for Grabs

For $25 million, you could have Tyler Perry’s expansive mansion in the uber wealthy Paces neighborhood of Atlanta.

The filmmaker, screenwriter, and comedic actor’s massive French Provincial-style estate is situated on 17 acres of park-like grounds. It’s big enough to house outdoor features such as a waterfall pool, a ‘hobby’ house, a ‘guard’ house, and formal gardens with fountains. The 34,668 square foot riverfront residence was completed back in 2007, and boasts a true resort-style vibe.

The showy Atlanta property boasts seven bedrooms and eleven-and-a-half bathrooms, and includes a double-height foyer featuring a splashy wrought iron railed sweetheart staircase. The foyer leads directly into an expansive reception lounge equipped with a fabulous terrace that overlooks the huge pool, and impeccably maintained grounds that lead to the Chatahoochee River’s edge.

The kitchen features a double island, top-grade pilastered cabinetry, chef-style appliances, and three different types of countertops. There’s also a huge library with paneled walls, a carved stone fireplace, and a built-in wet bar.

Other lavish amenities include a home theater with tiered seating, underground ballroom with a catering kitchen, tennis court, fully-equipped gym, and a suite dedicated to staff quarters.

The “If Loving You is Wrong” director took measures to protect his home and grounds in the case of a power outage, and installed a generator that’s capable of powering the entire estate. He also installed a security system worthy of protecting the White House, which includes armed guards, two security entrance gates, and cameras everywhere.

While he may be ditching this particular estate, Perry isn’t necessarily leaving Atlanta just yet. He still has a 17,000 square foot home in the Fairburn area of metropolitan Atlanta that he custom built on 11.4 acres in 2001. He also owns a nearby 1.29-acre piece of land and a three-acre adjacent property with an 8,572 square foot home situated on it.

In 2010 Perry bought “Dean Gardens” for $7.6 million, a 58-acre estate in the Johns Creek area of Atlanta. The expansive estate features all sorts of out-of-this-world amenities, including an amphitheater, private 18-hole golf course, helipad, wedding chapel, and a 10,000 square foot carriage house. The massive 32,000 square foot mansion that sits on the property features a 3,000-square-foot master suite and a 1950s-style diner.

There are also whispers that the ‘Gone Girl’ actor may be planning to develop another project in the same Georgian city, but with more square footage. He’s currently got a 1,000+ acre lot in the city, where he’s set on building himself a new mansion, potentially his largest yet.
